Comment by lolkekbur I've never understood why you would ever go 1 point in to imp fire blast to get 0. Comment by Snagrat Wait so frost is completely useless? Also, you have linked to the wrong "slow" spell in the detailed talent list. Please keep the following in mind when posting a comment: Your comment must be in English or it will be removed.

Table of Contents. Guide Navigation. This is a decent talent for Arcane Mages, as it reduces threat of all Arcane spells, which is of course a benefit to controlling aggro. It also reduces the target's resistance by 10, which isn't a huge amount but still helps with damage the tiniest bit.

This is the Arcane hit chance talent and it's quite frankly amazing. A must pick for Arcane, but useless for the other specs. This talent also has very little use in PvE. This talent can be used in PvP to ensure your Arcane Missiles cannot be interrupted with damage, and as a way to advance further down the Arcane tree.

Mages very rarely use their wands at max level in both PvE and PvP, so this talent is not worth taking. However, it can be a solid boost to damage while leveling. This talent gives Mages a little more survivability and some Mana regeneration. This talent is not that helpful in both PvE and PvP and should never really be taken. This is one of the best talents in the Arcane tree. It helps with Arcane's huge mana problems and directly leads to another talent which increases critical strike chance when it procs.

A must take for Arcane, but otherwise not too important. Amplify Magic and Dampen Magic both have their uses in the game, so this can be taken as an Arcane Mage filler, but it is not vital by any means. This is another must have for Arcane Mages. Arcane Blast is the core spell of the spec, so any talent that increases it's potential damage is massive.

This talent is great for survivability. As a Mage you are a cloth wearer, meaning you will have very low armor and will take a lot of damage from physical attacks.

This talent helps with this problem making it vital for PvP, making you much harder to deal with in PvP combat. This talent makes Mana Shield more efficient, and efficiency is always good. A must have talent for any Mages that want to PvP. With this talent, your Counterspell becomes incredibly powerful and can be the end of classes that rely on casting.

Not very useful in PvE, however. This is a very strong talent. Mana Regeneration is incredibly important, especially in PvE, and being able to regenerate Mana while casting will mean you have a ton more Mana available to cast spells. This talent is unfortunately pretty useless. It's all about survivability, which means it could be good in PvP, but it's so far down the Arcane tree that it's impossible to get for Frost Mages, and provides no benefit in PvE.

A must take talent for any Arcane Mage as it opens up Arcane Power. This talent is very strong as it allows you to instantly cast a spell, which is a huge increase to your burst damage.
